The Historic Mount Zion Baptist church under the leadership of Dr. Leroy M. Cole will be celebrating its 106th anniversary on Sunday August 16, 2015 at 10:45AM. The theme this year is “Homecoming”. The scripture is Matthew 16; 16-18 “Upon this rock I will build my church”. Mount Zion was founded in 1909. In 1957, after 4 years as assistant pastor, Dr. G. Calvin McCutchen assumed leadership. He faithfully led the Mt. Zion family for 50 years until his retirement in 2007. He currently serves as Pastor Emeritus. On September 5, 2008 Mt. Zion was listed in the National Register of Historical Places. The speaker for the occasion is Dr. Willie J. Tiller Jr. from Tabernacle Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK. Dr. Tiller serves as Vice President at large for the Oklahoma Baptist State Convention.
You are cordially invited to join with us in the celebration of the church that faith built, still standing, 106 years strong… Our goal at Mt. Zion is to share the love of God with each person who enters our doors. We strive to create an environment where you can feel accepted no matter where you are in life. We are an “imperfect” church, just trying to fulfill God’s “perfect” will. If you are seeking an exceptional worship experience, please join in celebration of our 106th anniversary!
We welcome you to praise the Lord!
Dr. Leroy M. Cole, Senior Pastor
Dr. G Calvin McCutchen, Pastor Emeritus
